John, it’s so wonderful to see you thriving. The conversations we had while you were exploring the choices in front of you will be seared in my memory, not for the choice, but for the way you were tackling the considerations AND for your courage to choose and forge a path that was right for you and your wife. And not anyone else if they had differing opinions.

It is awesome to hear more about your podcast. From the first Zoom session I had with you, I experienced your gift in asking questions that bring out the wisdom and genius in others. This area is a natural for you and draws upon your strengths.

Finally, I appreciate the shout out. Somewhere marbled in what you compliment me on is your influence and imprint. I’m grateful. πŸ™

Great to see you back on Substack, John, and to read about your wonderful advances.

Recently I used a "minimum viable drawing" in a presentation and thought about all of your superb sessions during Write of Passage.

I also thought about you last week when read through an actuarial report. Lots of potential for an actuary with great communication and presentation skills!

I am inspired by your return to Substack to also become more active.

cool updates John!! Way to be living life big with so many things that are meaningful to you. Congrats on becoming a husband and the podcast! I love how the podcast came from such a clear pain point of CVs falling flat in telling and you decided to show instead.

Also, I love the succinct rationale behind changing your newsletter title. I've been thinking about doing the same myself though it feels jarring to make a shift away from a purpose around learning that still is a core interest and catch-all for me.

Congratulations on all of it John! I had the same feeling about dumas when I read it. Nothing as satisfying as reading something people have been reading for decades! Actually no, finding your person is probably the best feeling in the world. I’m at my 20 year anniversary next year! I definitely wasn’t as wise about the water metaphor when I got married but always keep the long view and cherish your wife :)
