Believe it or not, in six decades I never read "How to win friends and influence people." Almost through it now, but thinking that there should be a law that every citizen has to read this book before turning 25. Event with the datedness of the references and the linguistic style being decades old its essence holds up like a walk in the summer sun. (Shantaram was also phenomenal.)

Love this curation so much and the fact that so many of my favorite books appeared on your list. Zen and the art of motorcycle maintenance! I haven’t been able to convince anyone to read that but it’s a classic! Arundathi Roy is a essayist and her nonfiction is even better than her fiction. Thanks for reminding me of the joy of the classics.

Awesome. I've only read Roy's novels - now I'm curious to read her nonfiction work. Thanks for the comment Sadia!
