Love the note on paying attention to our internal self thoughts and determining whether they are helping or hindering us. Wrote about the same thing this week on my experience with "anxiety" and the harmful language I was using with myself.
And you are a savage: 4:08 half marathon... absolute killer pace I aspire to reach one day.
Like Jack said, I can't believe your pace! Congrats on the great race. Also, I just loved how simple this is: “What’s the worst thing that could happen if you post this? At least you are putting yourself in the arena and building your body of work. There’s the added chance that it could help someone who comes across the post.”
Thanks Aly! Yeah it's all about finding a rhythm you can live with. I can see the writing staying with me for the long-term, I just need to find some stability for now. Kudos for staying so consistent throughout all the seasons of your life!
Hey, John! I've had that same realization w/ regards to detaching from your thoughts. Easier said than done, haha! Thanks for being open about it, and congrats on your personal best!
Wow, I haven’t heard anyone talk about fartlek training since I ran cross country decades ago. I’ve always been impressed by your athletic pursuits and love hearing about you practically and psychologically pursue your goals in that area. Also liked the examples of your reframed thinking. Good to see you back John.
Thanks Rick. It’s great that you enjoy reading about the physical pursuits. I often neglect them because I compare myself to other runners and friends who go faster and further. Fits in well the theme today. Appreciate the encouragement.

Love to see you in my inbox again, John.
Thanks Jack! I'll go check it out. Cool that we're on the same wavelength this week. Making this a habit haha.
Thanks dude. Wonder if I can eke out a few more minutes with some other adjustments. Nice challenge.
Good to connect again.

So true!
Thanks James! Very pleased with the result and happy that line resonated. Excited to read whatever you're busy cooking up next. Sending my best.
Congrats on the personal milestone, John! Very inspiring.
Also, I relate to the struggle of finding it harder to publish weekly on top of work.
Glad you’re adjusting your cadence so you can keep publishing without overwhelming yourself.

John! Welcome back! Actually, you never left. I'm running off to a meeting - will reply with more later. GREAT seeing your name in my inbox!
Thanks James. One of the main benefits of writing is connecting with and hearing from people like you.
